I have fond memories of turning 16, making mix CDs and driving around with my best girlfriend from high school. We rarely had a destination but there was something about the freedom of being able to drive anywhere we wanted and listen to our favorite songs over and over again and as loud as we wanted. It certainly was our favorite pastime. My most-liked CD at the time was definitely The Writing’s on the Wall by Destiny’s Child. We must have listened to that CD nonstop for months. Of course when most people think of Destiny’s Child, they think of Beyonce. But for us, I think I can safely say our number one girl was Kelly Rowland. In 2002 she stole our hearts again with one of our favorite songs from our senior year of high school- Dilemma (featuring Nelly). Oh my God, I can’t even begin to tell you how much we loved that song. And here I am today more than a decade later still listening to my homegirl Kelly Rowland. This one’s for you Lauren Govoni!
